Kid’s Birthday Party Themes –- Girls from 2 to 4

Your kids will most likely remember their parties as some of the happiest days of their lives … when all their friends come be at their house at one time, when they could have as much soda and candy as they wanted, and when everybody was focused on them for the day! Many parents take this to mean that they must spend hundreds of dollars on their children’s parties in order not to psychologically scar them… not true! Today we are looking at some easy themes for kid’s birthdays that you can create using licensed paper plates, different games like personalized scavenger hunts and pass-the-parcels, and printable decorations.
Barnyard parties
Most kids LOOOVE animals! Especially ones that are cute, fluffy and non-threatening. This is one non-girly party theme that works especially well for littler kids. You can go the whole hog by hiring a petting zoo or having parents drive their kids to a local petting zoo to meet up, or you may be able to scavenge together some animals from the party guests’ pets.
You can also theme your pass the parcel with little animal figurines, or put different animal statues around the house and create a sort of scavenger hunt, asking all the kids to find ‘the one that mooes.'
Barbie parties
It doesn’t take long for little girls to start loving Barbie! Some of them gravitate naturally to the dolls from the time they can reach out for toys. There are so many opportunities to decorate your party room with Barbie things -- licensed paper cup and plates, wall decorations, bags … the list is huge!
But you can also have lotsof fun with other Barbie themed games. Pose your Barbies in odd places around the backyard and have a sort of Barbie treasure hunt. Put them in obvious places, and ask the kids to find the Barbie with the purple shoes, or the Barbie who is sitting on something green.
Fairy princesses
Once your little girls are past the age of four, they are likely to move on from fairy princesses. Have a soft and sweet kids party with a fairy theme while you can! Often there are the same opportunities to replace generic with licensed things as with a Barbie party, but you could also:
  • Print out some extra-large colorings for the kids to do
  • Create scavenger hunt where you must find a fairy's crown or wand, her magic boots, and so on.
